[BUG] v8.7.2 Drawings do not align with mouse cursor

Thank you for this research. We’ve rolled out a new beta update that addresses the errors you mentioned. Though it doesn’t touch the inital issue with the cursor, that should have been fixed in the previous beta, as our dev confirmed it.

Please do check whether clean install of drivers will help

Updated to Nvidia v472.84 (472.84-notebook-win10-win11-64bit-international-nsd-whql.exe), the final version that installs on my PC. v5xx.xx DCH WHQL (default) refuse to install, saying I need “Standard” drivers; latest “Standard” driver provided by Nvidia is v472.84. There is a driver dated June 2022 available from Dell, my OEM, but I haven’t tried installing that one yet, and it doesn’t say what version number it is. I uninstalled the old version with DDU, rebooted, installed the new version, was prompted for a reboot, did so, then launched Lunacy v9.0.0.1721beta

The misalignment of the mouse with the pointer on the canvas persists, and it crashed on first launch with the new driver after rebooting.

As I was connected to the internet and have temporarily allowed Lunacy through the firewall, it automatically downloaded an update (irritating behaviour, especially as the installers are quite large, download to my very full SSD, and when it automatically tries to install, it crashes with “This program requires Windows Service Pack 1”, but it installs manually just fine.

The good

The new Interface Scale option is very good; I was able to use it to manually adjust the interface to fit perfectly with my 125% custom DPI (with legacy HiDPI fix). Any chance this could be leveraged to change the relative position of the mouse cursor and effective pointer on the canvas manually, e.g. in advanced settings/INI file?

The bad

Mouse cursor and the actual effective cursor are still offset by about 175px horizontal, 95px vertical on the canvas. I am now on basically the final version of Nvidia drivers for my system.
No way to disable automatic updates other than firewalling, which annoyingly also blocks manual update downloads from your website.

The ugly

The “Christmas icon” (no offence intended, it’s a bit busy and doesn’t scale as well as the default)
In my opinion, Interface scale would be better, more tidily and more findably placed under a general Edit >> Settings menu, along with a few other options like Emoji Style, most of the Help menu, File >> Always save changes on close… (rather than being scattered throughout and cluttering the other menus) (and please add a checkbox for Automatic Updates)
Similarly, File >> New Cloud Document, Import to Cloud, Import from Figma, Upload this document to Lunacy Cloud (interchangeable with “Import to Cloud”? Sounds like they do the same thing), Open URL from Clipboard (sounds like this could work as a general replacement for “Import from Figma” and other services) all seem like options that would be better grouped tidily under under a File >> Cloud submenu

Let me get this straight. Initially you said that you are on Win10. Any fixes we tried were relevant to Windows 10, as that’s the system we support.

Now your System info says that you have Microsoft Windows 6.1.7600, which is Windows 7. Microsoft themselves ended support for Win7 two years ago.

I mean, my installation is an older version of Win10, maybe there is some Win7 fix that would work? I was reading here, and wondering if maybe my PC is working as “DPI unaware”, breaking the canvas in Lunacy…?

Testing v9.2beta at the moment, and it looks like this bug is fixed. Tested on HiDPI Win10 v1709, with DPI scaling set to be performed by System (Enhanced) as well as disabled, as well as this fix installed. Also tested with Win7 compatibility mode, so it should also work on Win7 (in Win7 compatibility mode, if you increase scale of UI, dropdown menus on floating toolbars become misaligned, but selection rectangle seems to be always correctly aligned)

I’m finding the new floating toolbars very confusing; I’ll swear there was only a side toolbar before?

There is still some weirdness with the floading elements overlapping when changing UI scale:

But selection rectangle works perfectly now. Weirdness from the screenshots disappears when I reset the interface scale.

Maybe make those floating elements docked relative, or draggable by the user?
