Why a star instead of a crescent moon?

This is a less serious suggestion and not really an issue, but I’ve been liking Lunacy so far and part of the app’s logo stuck out to me as an odd choice. Specifically, why is the shape on the top right of the logo a 4-pointed star rather than a moon? Unless it’s to do with Lunacy trying to advertise that is has AI functionality (if you really want to call deleting backgrounds and upscaling images “AI”), a crescent moon shape seems like it would be much more distinct, recognizable, and reference the name of the app as “luna” means “moon”.

Maybe ai or because the L should be the crescent moon

Thanks for using Lunacy, it’s great to hear that you like it!

This logo was designed some time ago before we integrated AI into the app, so I’m not sure there’s any particular meaning behind the star beyond its aesthetic value.

Eh, fair enough

Appreciate someone from the team actually responding to this post and sating my curiosity.
I quickly mocked up a version of the icon with a crescent instead of a star just for fun in Inkscape. Feel free to use the concept.

Thanks for sharing the concept! We really appreciate every contribution from our community.

We can’t make any promises, but we’ll definitely keep your idea in mind.
